The cult brand has gained a huge following from their standout bags and now they are launching shoes just in time for the summer.
The notion of becoming an ‘it’ item is something the fashion industry is all too familiar with. There are of course faddy brands that almost reach such elusive status and then there are those that garner such a cult following that they become full blown ‘it’.
This kind of ‘it’ normally involves heavy branding: a bag or a shoe so easy to spot because it has been logofied to the max it’s impossible to miss. However, for Amsterdam based accessories brand, Wandler, the easy-to-spot aspect of the bag didn’t lie in over amplified branding but rather in the aesthetic allowing customers and fans to spot the bag purely based on its shape. Pretty cool, right?
The style in question is the Hortensia bag (this style alone has contributed 20% of company sales) and a quick search of #wandler on Instagram brings up almost 5,000 iterations of the bag. Wandler’s success with the Hortensia bag (and their other designs) can be attributed to its easy to wear multi-strap approach and minimal branding paired with a sweet-spot price point have left the fashion world begging for more. No mean feat for a brand that launch in April of 2017.
Fortunately for us, Elza Wandler, the brains behind the brand has answered our prayers with her first shoe collection to brilliantly compliment not only her bags but your entire summer wardrobe. The footwear designs carry the same desirable qualities of the bags: elegant with an appeal to every woman regardless of age of style, dynamic colourways and high quality, hand-crafted product.
“With how our bags have evolved over the season, it felt like a good moment to show another side of my creativity and ride that wave now,” says Elza Wandler
Initially launching via her high summer collection, the Wandler footwear collection comprises of five styles including a pink and red square peep-toe block heeled sand, two tone pointed backless kitten heels and open toe mules.
Coming in an array of fresh spring colours like mint green and candied pink, as well as an of-the-moment zebra print, the collection is sure to set your spring wardrobe (and Instagram) alight.
