Exercise regularly, as physical activity helps boost the immune system.
Eat a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains to get all the essential vitamins and minerals. Key nutrients include vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc, selenium, beta-carotene and iron.
Aim for seven or eight hours’ sleep a night, as adequate sleep is crucial for the immune system
Practice mindfulness. Your immune system can take a hit when you’re stressed, so try hobbies that positively impact your mental health.
Avoid smoking and limit alcohol intake, as both can harm the immune system.
Stay hydrated by drinking enough water. Dehydration impacts all bodily functions, including immunity.
Take vitamin D and omega-3 if you don’t eat oily fish regularly.
Consider hormone replacement therapy (HRT) if you’re at the menopause stage. That can help to balance your hormones and support the immune system as it adjusts to your new normal.
