It’s worth noting that the extra games involved in this tournament – there will be 64 matches as opposed to the previous 52 due to the increased number of teams taking part – will have influenced the number of tickets sold, but that doesn’t make it any less exciting that so many people are coming out to enjoy and support the women’s game.

According to The Guardian, few tickets now remain for all three of England’s group matches, while ticket allocations for all five matches being held at Sydney’s Stadium Australia – including the final on 20 August – have almost sold out.
