Strength training for yogis no.3: walkout to cobra to release tight backs

This workout starts with some serious release. You’ll tap into tight hamstrings and lower back muscles with walkout to cobra, before targeting those underused side muscles in a twisted lunge. The main circuit mirrors the kinds of moves you’ll find in any power yoga class, such astricep push ups and deadbugs.
Core conditioning: side plank/Russian twists
How to do Russian twists
- Sitting on your bum, bend your knees and place your feet flat on the floor a little in front.
- Clasp your hands together and slowly, start from the waist over to your right.
- Hold for a few seconds before coming back to centre.
- Twist over to the left, keeping the core engaged the whole time.
