A perky new ad campaign for the airline Cathay Pacific – slogan: “Meet the team that goes the extra mile” – has been shelved, following a sex scandal involving two members of staff.
Compromising photos – showing crew members (allegedly a pilot and flight attendant) joining the Mile High Club in the cockpit of one of the airline’s fleet – were published in the Hong Kong media. Clearly not the ‘extra mile’ the company was talking about, the campaign has now been put on hold until 1 October as, “the timing doesn’t suit.” The photogenic crew members have not been named but were fired by the company.
