Jamie, 32, revealed that he had an employed an S&M expert - plus accompanying submissive - to show him the ropes of sadomasochist arousal, in order to prepare for the iconic role.

"It’s such a big part of the character that I wanted to know what I was doing," he told Shortlist magazine. "This guy came along with his submissive, I sat in the corner with a beer and watched. My driver was on the other side of the door, God knows what he thought."

But he previously seemed to suggest the film wouldn't be that explicit, saying: "You want to appeal to as wide an audience as possible without grossing them out. You don’t want to make something gratuitous, and ugly, and graphic."
