An artist has redesigned a series of iconic film posters, replacing the actors’ faces with photographs of them as children.

Illustrator, Léo Lardy, has named his project Back to Youth, and the results are pretty unnerving.

On every poster, which he has posted on his Facebook account and website, Lardy has replaced his own name with the director’s.

Speaking to Stylist.co.uk, Lardy says that the idea to edit the movie posters came to him one day when he was watching The Lord of the Rings and he realised that "Elijah Wood had not changed a bit since his very first movies as a child."

"I started researching a lot, looking for pictures of famous actors and actresses when they were small children," says Léo.

"The tough part was to find pictures that were usable but most importantly where the celebrities were recognisable."
