For many of us, the annual BAFTA awards are the highlight of our TV calendar. Never mind the statement-making outfits gracing the red carpet, seeing more and more brilliant women take to the stage to scoop big is nothing short of inspiring.

This year’s BAFTAs looks set to be no different. From Viola Davis to Lady Gaga, a line-up of extremely talented women are being recognised as the academy announced its nominations for this year’s awards.

And if the Golden Globes are anything to go by then references to the #MeToo movement and Time’s Up initiative will surely be visible.
