So is it really as easy as booking an Uber taxi? Users can slide over to the 'Eats' section (only visible when you’re in the coverage area) on their Uber app, enter their address or move a pin to their location, tap 'View menu' where a list of dishes will appear, and hit 'Place order'. Uber promises a driver will arrive with a hot meal within minutes.

“We thought, ‘What can Uber bring to this field that’s special and magical?” says Jason Droege, the man behind Uber's experimental ventures, “and our delivery time is pretty magical.”

Rather than waiting for customers to place an order and then battling traffic to deliver it, Uber drivers pick up batches of orders from participating restaurants in temperature controlled bags. Then they drive around and wait until a customer requests it.

We can't confirm when it'll arrive in the UK, but since London was one of the first cities to get the car service outside of America, it could be very soon. Hold on tight readers.
