If you’re looking to transform your sex life, all you need to do (apparently) is change-up your morning routine.
That’s right: researchers have revealed the best time to have sex, and let’s just say it’s not for the faint-hearted.
After surveying 1,000 people, Forza Supplements found that early morning is the best time to get jiggy with it, according to the positive effects intercourse had on the participant’s body clocks.
Early risers found that the optimum time to be between the sheets was 7.30am, which should be 45 minutes after you wake up.

According to the participants reports, it was the benefit of a good night’s sleep that made their morning romp stand-out. Apparently, when we’re well rested our energy levels are at their highest which gives us more stamina for lively activities such as these.
As well as starting your morning off with a bang and enjoying some intimate time with your partner, the endorphins released during your steamy session lower blood pressure and stress levels which keeps us upbeat for the rest of the day. Basically, it’s a win-win.

When you’re feeling ill
Picture the scene from Friends when Monica is suffering from flu, looking pretty gross and tirelessly trying to seduce Chandler who’s having absolutely none of it. Well, it turns out the joke was on Mr. Bing the whole time: having sex when you’re ill is actually a very good idea. Not only does sex boost your mood and therefore cheers you up when you’re feeling a bit rubbish, a study shows that having sex activates your immune system too.
Half way through the month
Day 14 of your menstruation cycle is a special time, ladies. A study published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine shows that midway through your your cycle your clitoris is at its maximum engorgement and can increase in size of up to 20%. This means that sensitivity is through the roof and orgasms are much easier to come by – happy days!
When you’re feeling exhilarated
Having sex is exhilarating in itself, but if you’re high on adrenaline after doing something scary or exciting you can expect your ‘roll in the hay’ to be even better than usual. A study published in the Archives of Sexual Behaviour shows that whether it’s playing sport or bungee jumping, when our bodies are pumping adrenaline we become automatically more aroused, meaning we’re more up for having sex.
Participants in the study reported that they felt more attracted to other people after exercising, resulting in an indication of “a significant positive correlation between adrenaline and attraction”.
The start of your period
If a mind-blowing orgasm is what you want, then the beginning of your period is the time get it. According to Laurie Watson, a sex therapist and couples councillor, the day you come on your period is seriously good for climaxing because your labia and clitoris are more sensitive.
Speaking to Woman’s Day she says, “When blood accumulation makes your uterus heavy, contractions are more perceptible during orgasm, and your labial and clitoris tissue tends to be more sensitive when you retain fluids.”
Ultimately sex can be great at any time of the day or week, the most important thing is both participants being comfortable and happy while they’re doing it.
