The Queen is recruiting someone to decorate Buckingham Palace

Are you the kind of person who loves nosing around people’s houses for a dose of interiors inspo? Well this might just be your dream job: the Queen is recruiting someone to decorate Buckingham Palace. However you will have to handy with a needle in order to apply.

HRH is seeking a new curtain maker and cushion upholsterer to furnish the 1,000 plus rooms at Buckingham Palace.

The job description explains that someone is needed to help decorate “some of the most famous houses in the world,” including the rooms within Windsor Castle and St. James’s Palace.

It also specifies that the ideal candidate needs to be able to use a sewing machine and be a pro at hand stitching in order to create new soft furnishings for the rooms. 

They’ll also be responsible for the upkeep and preservation of historical upholstery in the palace’s corridors.

“The range of projects will stretch you. And knowing that you're conserving and creating magnificent items that will be enjoyed by future generations will give you the greatest sense of reward,” it says of the role.

The position pays £22,000 plus benefits, not to mention the opportunity to oogle incredible decor of the palace every single day. The deadline is this week, though, so hurry if you want to be in with a chance.
