I like to start my work days slow and alone.

I try to do about 15 minutes of yoga every morning. It really helps me manage stress; we can hold so much of it in our bodies, and I feel it particularly in my shoulders. Spending that time by myself is so important, especially with the busyness and speed of the city.

I always wear black to work.

It makes my morning routine a whole lot easier. Black is chic, and my job is all about platforming other artists and creatives, so I want to appear as a sort of blank slate. It’s never about me; it’s always about the work.

My love of art came from my mum.

She was a graphic designer and I grew up going to museums with her in LA. I remember going to a David Hockney exhibition at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), seeing his canyon paintings and thinking, “This is where I live!” That was a key moment where I fell in love with art. When I went to Princeton for university, I started out as an economics major because I had no idea what to do and it seemed like a safe bet for a stable income. I worked at an investment bank the summer after my freshman year, quickly realised the environment wasn’t right for me and switched my major to art history.
