“I started my career in advertising at age 20, when it was a booming industry. Big client budgets were spent on lavish shoots and money was abundant for client entertainment, boozy lunches and extravagant parties.

“While I learnt a lot from working within this shiny industry, I felt that something was missing - and that my personal passions for natural, holistic health and nutrition didn’t align with my career.

“I felt low and was unhappy at work. When I finally handed my notice in, I started temping and studied nutrition. I fell in love with it - and knew this was my calling and purpose. I had no experience working in the natural health industry and urgently needed to get in and earn money somehow.

“One day, I saw a quote from Winston Churchill written on a wall while I was out on a walk: ‘Never, never, never give up’ - and this is how I’ve approached work ever since. I was initially turned away by many companies I applied to, but I persevered and never gave up hope. I spent every waking moment learning, researching and doing everything I could to help me enter the industry where I knew I wanted to build my new career.

“Now, I run a natural health PR agency - Good Health PR - with my best friend, Andrea, representing wellbeing brands that are doing good things in the world.”
