Business Link’s free face-to-face advice has been instrumental in helping entrepreneurs establish and grow their businesses, but this month, its 11 regional offices are due to be replaced with a website. 1. Barclays

Barclays’ free start up seminars help turn your idea into a reality and the existing business seminars give practical tips on boosting performance.

2. Portobello Business Centre

Free half-day induction courses to teach you the start-up basics, while an assigned business adviser can help you develop ideas, create business plans and find finance.

3. British Library Business and IP Centre, London

Apply for a free, hour-long advice session to talk through your ideas and identify where to get more help. There are also free workshops on subjects such as knowing your market and intellectual property.

4. H&M Revenue & Customs Workshops

Book an appointment online with a Business Support Team member and discuss your queries on record-keeping, filling in and filing your tax return - and what to do if you take someone on.
