If you love Mother’s Ruin, we’ve got some news that we think you’ll like.

There’s dream jobs and then, there’s the job of world-travelling gin taster, a position that’s just been advertised by concept restaurant Mr. Fogg’s.

Those who have had the pleasure of visiting one of Mr. Fogg’s London venues (which are currently located in Mayfair, Covent Garden and Fitzrovia) will know that each restaurant is entirely concept themed, which makes going there an evening like no other.

Based on the character of Phileas J. Fogg from Jules Verne’s novel Around the World in 80 Days, the restaurants possess an old-world explorer, Victorian feel and specialises in exotic spirits and ‘gin safaris’.

This brings us, quite nicely, to the new vacancy Mr. Fogg and his team are trying to fill. With another new restaurant due to open on The Strand in September, the brand has decided that in order to make their latest addition as good as it can possibly be, it’s going to need a selection of gins on the menu that are out-of-this-world.

Mr Fogg’s

That’s why they are giving one lucky gin-enthusiast (and a companion of their choice) the chance to travel the world for 80 days, following a route inspired by the book, as gin ambassadors for Bombay Sapphire.

From Mumbai to Hong Kong, Tokyo to San Francisco, New York to Lisbon, the twosome will be asked to document their journey in gifted notebooks from Aspinal of London and update followers on their mission by posting regularly to social media.

As they explore new countries they will be responsible for collecting botanicals and inspiration to bring back to London to create their very own ‘Around the World Cocktail’, made with ingredients from every corner of the globe.

Assisting in choosing the successful applicant, will be famed explorer, Levison Wood. Wood is also a best-selling author and photographer who has covered stories and events around the world for over ten years. He will use his extensive knowledge and expertise to find the bravest and most talented adventurers to embark on this expedition.

Could this be the best job ever?

Mr Fogg’s asks that those who wish to apply for the role have good photography skills, strong brand awareness of Mr Fogg’s and Bombay Sapphire, excellent written communication skills, active social media skills, a valid passport and, of course, a gin loving friend.

If you want to apply visit and answer a selection of questions ranging from how late you tend to be, to your favourite country ever visited. We’ve been assured that the job is paid, but details on exactly how much are yet to be revealed.

Good luck!
