Six months ago we launched our search to find Stylist’s first official business ambassador.

The hunt was on to find an incredibly inspiring entrepreneur to write a regular column in Stylist packed with tips and advice based on their wealth of experience and to act as an ambassador at our Stylist Network events, where we have already helped encourage thousands of enterprising women to realize their ambitions.

Emails flooded in from hundreds of impressive candidates, all with a genuine passion to help aspiring entrepreneurs. After much debate we chose five brilliant finalists: Laura Tenison, Annika Bosanquet, Lara Morgan, and Corina Kellam. But it was Sophie Cornish, the brains behind cult fashion and gift website, who we've crowned the winner.

The combination of her verve, all-round business prowess and outstanding financial success (together with her business parter Holly Tucker she has grown from £100,000 to £15 million in four years) made her the victorious candidate.

Sophie’s weekly columns will begin in August, and she'll cover the issues most pertinent to aspiring entrepreneurs. “Inadequate government childcare provisions and the inconsistencies of securing finance are just two issues which I really want to tackle,” she told Stylist. She’ll also represent Stylist on radio, TV and online and be on hand at all future Stylist Network events as our advisor.

“Becoming a great businesswoman is a very personal thing,” Sophie says. “It’s about what’s in your gut. Building a business has been a pretty terrifying ride at times, and I’m looking forward to sharing some of the knowledge that got it safely off the ground.”

Sophie is already working on ideas for her column in August, but if you can't wait until then, join us on 23 June for Sophie’s first ever lunchtime master class, where she’ll be answering all your initial questions.
