We think it’s time Cath Kidston officially reached Fairy Godmother status after the launch of yet another utterly magical Disney collection.
We may be career-driven, fully-grown, badass women, but, when it comes to the nostalgia of Disney, it takes all of three seconds for our inner child to appear, eyes as wide as saucers with an insatiable want for everything in sight.
So just imagine our pure delight when Cath Kidston gave stylist.co.uk an exclusive look at their new Disney collection.
Predominantly featuring Disney’s inaugural and most famous characters, Minnie and Mickey Mouse, the new 117-piece collection spans a range of patterns and colour palettes. This ensures that, despite reminding us of our childhoods, the designs are timely, wearable and seriously on-trend.
Original sketches of Minnie and Mickey provide the main source of inspiration, but plenty of their friends (think Pluto and Daisy Duck, to name just two) appear on the colourful mugs, breton t-shirts and stylish decor pieces, too.
Here are just a few of our favourite pieces from the collection:
There’s something surprisingly addictive about stationery and these paper goods pieces don’t disappoint. Notebook fiends out there will be appeased with a mix of patterns, sizes and adorable accessories to match.
Cath Kidston has reworked the classic Spitalfields Rose print (featured in the crossover bag above) to create a background for the art deco sketches of Minnie and Mickey, named (aptly) the Mickey and Minnie Bouquet design.
The Mickey and Minnie Patches design (featured on the set of blue make-up bags above) gave Cath Kidston the chance to celebrate some of the brand’s much-loved archival prints. Mickey and Minnie and friends are placed next to a sprinkling of stars, strawberries and gentle flowers for a playful look.
Cath Kidston’s Button Spot print has received an update with the faces of our favourite Disney characters. Minnie and the gang pop up across a mix of products, from fashion to interior, in a plethora of colours from a sophisticated slate-grey to the punchy pastels above.
We adore the vintage feel of the Minnie and Mickey original sketches, but we have a special soft spot for the graphic version to. Mickey’s cheeky wink gives the classic Breton Stripe pattern a cute re-vamp.
Last but not least, what would Christmas be without a bit of sparkle? This sequinned purse is possibly our favourite product of the whole collection, especially because of its silver, metallic background which gets extra magpie points.
The collection is due to launch online and in stores 17 November, but for extra-keen customers there will be a preview sale of the range on the 16 November. To be there first to bag yourself some Minnie and Mickey magic sign up here.
Santa, if you’re reading this we’ll take anything (or all of it) in our stocking please!
