The good, the bad and the outrageous of 2016's celebrity Halloween outfits

Stars have been celebrating Halloween with political pastiche, retro pop culture references and lashings of metallic body paint.
Both Heidi Klum and Jonathan Ross threw their annual celeb-laden extravaganzas on the proper date for celebrating all things gruesome and ghostly, even though it was a Monday, while the rest of the A-list dug out their scary outfits over the weekend.
Our unofficial costume awards are as follows:
Maximum effort: Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom were committed fully to their Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump homages, complete with fat suits, bleached eyebrows, prosthetics and scarily convincing hairpieces. Uncanny.
Nailing nostalgia: Beyonce and Kylie Jenner both opted to dress as the musical idols of their youth, with Bey looking to '80s hip hop legends Salt-N-Pepa for her outfit, while Kylie Jenner faithfully recreated Christina Aguilera's iconic bikini and chaps combo for her 2002 Dirrty video.
On point political statement: She may have rolled it out weeks before All Hallows' Eve, but Jemima Khan's take on Melania Trump accompanied by a groping Donald is still proving difficult to beat.
Honourable mentions: Cindy Crawford and her family dressing as punks with attitude, and Jenna Dewan Tatum absolutely owning the sparkly unicorn look.
Here are 47 of the most impressive efforts on the celebrity circuit...
