O come, all ye faithful - it’s time get your caroling on, with our pick of the most festive events in London.

It happens every year: December rolls around and, despite the ever-present Christmas jingles and mini-Santas, it still takes a while for us to start feeling properly Christmassy.

But if you’re looking for ways to get yourself in the festive spirit, we reckon you can do no wrong with a spot of Christmas caroling - and with a multitude of glittering events lighting up the capital, you really are spoiled for choice when it comes to picking a venue.

From traditional church services to cosy pub sing-alongs, read on to discover our pick of the best Christmas caroling events in London.

Carols at The Ned with Gareth Malone

The Ned

The Ned, which just so happens to be Soho House’s first venue which is open to non-members, is hosting a series of decadent Christmas caroling and dining experiences across the first three Sundays of December. Guests will be welcomed with drinks and a three course dinner menu in both the (millennial pink) Millie’s Lounge and Cecconi’s, for £75 per person. 

Alternatively, for a minimum spend of £60, you can enjoy drinks and nibbles in The Nickel Bar. The roving choir will be taking requests for your favourite traditional carols and mixing it up with acapella renditions of your Christmas party playlist. After dinner, the former Grand Banking Hall will come alive with the sound of a choral line-up hosted by Gareth Malone, presenter of the BAFTA-award-winning TV series The Choir and BBC’s Pitch Battle.

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home Christmas Carol Concert

What could possibly be more joy-inducing than combining the merriest time of the year with a whole host of furry friends? Animal lovers won’t be able to hold themselves back from coming along to this very special carol service, which promises that “plenty of canine friends will be there to welcome you on the night”.

Christmas Hits Nights at Sky Garden 

The Sky Garden

Watch over the sparkling lights of the city and sing your heart out to some of your favourite festive tunes, from the height of 35 floors at the Sky Garden’s Christmas Hits Night. A live band will be performing festive sing-a-long songs from Wham, Bing Crosby, The Jackson 5 and many more while you enjoy drinks or, for ticket holders, mulled wine and a mince pie. 

You can either book yourself a ticket, a table at the Sky Pod Bar or try and bag a walk-in space, although these aren’t guaranteed. 

When: 19 and 20 December, from 7pm

Lucia Choir at Aquavit


Nordic restaurant Aquavit is flying in a host of Scandinavian angels to start the festive season with a heavenly choir performance. 

The famed Lucia Choir are coming all the way from Sweden to sing carols dedicated to warmth and light, to uplift you from the bitterness of winter. They will be gracing the Central London restaurant with two candle-lit performances on the first Sunday and Monday of December, at varying times. 

Sit back and enjoy the restaurant’s critically-acclaimed menu while being soothed by the harmonious voices of this very special choir.

Brass carol band at The Vine

The Vine

There’s nothing better than a cosy pub to help get you in the festive spirit. 

The Vine in Kentish Town will feature live music every Friday, with a brass carol band ‘Dat Brass’ on the last Friday before Christmas. Enjoy Yuletide treats alongside the tunes, with canapés such as truffle cauliflower mousse, turkey breast and sage stuffing croquettes, mince pies with brandy butter and, of course, plenty of mulled wine.

Adfam’s Christmas Carol Concert 

St Bride’s Church

Adfam, a charity supporting families that have been effected by substance abuse, are holding a carol concert to raise money for their cause. 

The annual affair is a lovely opportunity to see the beautiful interior of St Bride’s church and bellow out some traditional tunes. For £15 you can bag a ticket with an un-allocated seat or, for £30, you can bag a ticket for a prime spot in the centre of the church.

Candlelit Carols at Southwark Cathedral

Southark Cathedral is holding a gorgeously traditional carol service in association with international development charity Feed the Minds on Tuesday 12 December. 

Gather with your nearest and dearest and sing along to classic Christmas carols, while enjoying performances from the mesmerising Quorum Chamber Choir.

A Christmas Celebration at St Martin-in-the-Fields

St Martin-in-the-Fields

If you’re looking for a grand setting to sing your carols, head to St Martin-in-the-Field in Trafalgar Square. This centrally located English Anglican church is putting on a night of ‘Christmas Celebration’ with a merry collection of carols and yuletide music sung by choral scholars and, of course, you!

Carols will include Carol of the Bells, Ding Dong, Merrily onHhigh and The Shepherd’s Farewell, and many other classics.

When: 7 December, 7.30-9.30pm

Charity Christmas carol concert at Westminster Cathedral

At Landsec’s annual Christmas caroling event, 1,300 guests will be treated to the angelic sounds of the Victoria Children’s Choir, the English Cornett & Sackbut Ensemble and the Westminster Cathedral Choir to raise money for the Cardinal Hume Centre charity.

Attendees will be treated to a selection of readings from a glittering line up of well-known names, including musician, broadcaster and author Cerys Matthews; writer, comedian, and presenter, Frank Skinner, The One Show and Match of the Day’s Adrian Chiles and BBC presenter and journalist Emily Maitlis. 

There will also be an all-day festive food and crafts market at Cardinal Place before the concert with entertainment, including carol singers, awe-inspiring walk-about artists, illuminated dancers and beautiful Arcadian stilt walkers.

After the concert, ticket holders are even invited for a festive drinks reception on the roof garden of Cardinal Place, which sounds like merriment at its finest.

The Children’s Trust Candlelit Christmas Concert at Holy Trinity Church

Holy Trinity Church will be hosting an evening of glorious Christmas music, candlelight, readings and carols on the 11 December. 

Hosted by journalist and BBC news presenter Nicholas Owen, the night of festive merriment will feature all sorts of special guests and celebrity readings, which are yet to be confirmed.

Carols in the Market Yard

Deptford Market Yard

If churches aren’t your thing, try a more creative setting to sing carols at Deptford Market Yard. Come along to the open space and exposed brick arches to hear the soaring voices of the Salvation Army Band,while sampling mulled wine and winter warmers from various food vendors. 

There will also be a Designer Maker Christmas Fair running that same weekend, which is the perfect opportunity to pick up some extra Christmas presents.

Carols at The Old Brewery

The Old Brewery

On 9 December The Old Royal Navel College chapel will be singing the most classic Christmas songs such as Silent Night, Deck The Halls and Jingle Bells.

Get into the Christmas spirit by singing your heart out with a warm mug of mulled wine and a mince pie at The Old Brewery in Greenwich.

The Trafalgar Arms in Tooting is kicking the festive season up a notch with their very own carol singers. They invite you to sink into a chair by the fire and relax with a glass of something sparkling as they belt out the Christmas classics.
