When 101 Dalmatians fan Corinne Jones got engaged, there was only way she wanted to celebrate the announcement.

A Disney inspired photoshoot.

Happy to oblige, fiancé Tony Collier headed to a nearby park with Jones and their families, to stage a full reenactment of the scene where Roger and Anita first meet.

Disney 101 Dalmatians scene

Both Chicago-born singers now living in Naperville, Illinois, Jones and Collier met at university in 2009 and later went to work at Walt Disney World together after graduating.

Now special education and music teachers, the couple shared the images online earlier this week and have now found themselves at the centre of the viral spotlight.

“My future wife's favourite movie is 101 Dalmatians, and for our engagement photos she asked if we could recreate this one iconic scene using our respective family dogs of course, Mookie and Izabelle,” Collier explains.

 “How could I resist?”

Dressed in full costume, the pair staged the scene where the Disney characters get entangled in their dog leads, and are sent falling into the lake.

Jones and Collier’s mums helped to coax the pets into the roles of Pongo and Perdita on the day, while Jones’ brother was on hand to douse the pair with water.

Artist and photographer Melissa Biggerstaff aka Rusty Lion Art, Jones’ cousin, captured the whole thing on camera.

Since posting the results of the shoot on Imgur, the couple's engagement photographs have been viewed nearly 400,000 times.

“I have always loved that Roger and Anita were not the typical fairytale,” Jones tells Mashable. “They were believable characters who didn't just come together merely by wishing on a star and casting a magic spell.”

“We knew some Disney fans would like our photos,” she adds, “but we were stunned to see just how many!”
