A dog that fainted with excitement when a family member returned home after two years, has become an internet sensation.

In the video, which has now hit 16 million views, the adorable pet named Casey can be seen wailing and jumping when his owner Rebecca Ehalt returns to their home in Murrysville, Pennsylvania, after being away living in Slovenia for two years.

Casey the dog is then seen to momentarily pass out from 'overwhelming joy'.

Ehalt explained that her two-year stint away from home is equivalent to 14 years in dog years.

The owner hadn't returned home the previous year, because her whole family (except Casey) came to Bled in Slovenia for her wedding.

The schnauzer breed was taken to the vet after the emotional reunion and were reassured that the pet was in good health.
