Today is World Cat Day. That's right, a day dedicated to cats everywhere!

Thanks to the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) which rescues and provides care for animals around the world, August 8 is officially a date to mark in our calendars for our feline friends.

In celebration, we've picked five of the best cats in film. They've given us hours of amusement with their nonchalant faces, adorable purring and utter coolness. Cats know just how to make cinema gold...
