A dog was hit by a car in Georgia after its naked owners fed it LSD.
The surreal incident was uncovered when police responded to reports of a nude couple running along a road in the city of Snellville, Ga., at around 8pm on Sunday night (30 October).
The pair - later identified as Nicholas Modrich and Jamie Hughes - were traced to their nearby home, where Modrich answered the door to police still naked.
"They were tripping pretty hard," Snellville police Capt. Harold Thomas told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
During questioning, the couple, both 25, said they had given some LSD to "Oscar," and that he had gone missing. Having established Oscar was a dog, police later found him at a local vets. He was taken to after being hit by a car while high on the drug.
Modrich and Hughes were taken to hospital and now face drug and possible animal cruelty charges.
Police found a bong, marijuana and Gummi worms at their home. It is thought they used the Gummi worms to take the LSD, the police captain said.
Oscar's condition is unknown.
