Girls Aloud announced that they will be releasing a greatest hits album, Ten (featuring new songs), and will be going on tour next year, in a press conference that was live-streamed on Youtube today (19 October).

Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle, and Kimberley Walsh will release the first single from their new album, Something New on November 26, and will perform it for the first time on Children In Need on November 16.

The UK tour will kick off in Newcastle in February 2013 and end in Liverpool in March.

Speaking at the conference, Nicola said that the reunion was just "meant to be", whilst Cheryl said it felt "very normal" to be in Girls Aloud again after success in her solo career, stating "We've had so many amazing experiences together as young teenage girls to young women".

Excitement for the band's reunion reached fever pitch long before the live announcement today, with Girls Aloud releasing a video trailer for their upcoming single Something New earlier this week. Scroll down to watch the video below.
