Ah, Bread Week. We’ve witnessed an incredible lion being carved out of well-proved dough, a basket woven entirely from rising yeast and now… the most intricately carved petite swans you’ve ever seen. All thanks to Rahul.

Not only did Rahul win us over with his brilliant baking skills in last night’s episode of The Great British Bake Off, but he’s stolen our hearts, too.

Tasked with making 12 Chelsea buns, a batch of eight non-yeast garlic naan breads and a tiered korovai showstopper, episode three proved to be … EMOTIONAL.

But our hearts started melting early on when Rahul revealed his very shaky hand to Paul Hollywood while making his Chelsea buns, and admitting he’s “always shaking” in the white tent.

“Inside me is like a pressure cooker – it can burst anytime,” Rahul revealed.

And then while narrating a segment on Rahul, Sandi Toksvig revealed: “Rahul moved to the UK eight years ago and now bakes cakes to make friends.”

The research scientist was then seen walking into work with a beautifully baked cake for his colleagues.

Cue: every GBBO fan now wanting to be Rahul’s friend.

Not only does every GBBO fan want to be his “best friend” but they also want to “hug” the “pure little sunshine”.
