It’s time to get in the mood for the spookiest day of the year.
The 31 October is the only day of the year when you can get off Scot free with throwing on a creepy costume, indulging in pumpkin-shaped treats and trying your hand at baking vegan snacks while listening to Michael Jackson’s Thriller on repeat.
But if you’re not planning on properly celebrating the scariest day of the year until the weekend rolls around, then putting together a brilliant Halloween-inspired playlist is in order (along with a checklist of horror films, too).
So, whether you’re hell-bent on making your colleagues listen to the songs all day or you’re in need of a great playlist in time for your spooky soirée come Friday, then Spotify has got you covered. Not only has the music service compiled a list of the Halloween-inspired tunes everyone’s listening to right now, but it has also ranked them, too.
From Santana’s Black Magic Woman to Somebody’s Watching Me by Rockwell and Ghostbusters by Ray Parker, Jr., many tunes will always be associated with All Hallows’ Eve which is why they’ve made the cut. However, a few surprising songs have also snuck into the top 10, too.
Take a look below at 10 of the spookiest sounding streamed songs on Spotify right now.
10) Black Magic Woman by Santana
9) A Nightmare on My Street by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince
8) Somebody’s Watching Me by Rockwell
7) Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon
6) This Is Halloween by The Citizens of Halloween
5) Highway to Hell by AC/DC
