Gallopin’ gorgons, it looks like magic might be within closer reach of us mere muggles than we thought.
For 20 years, we’ve been led to believe that the mystical world of dark lords and sorting hats, invented by author and feminist JK Rowling, was all make-believe. However, a magical new creation by Truffle Shuffle has changed our minds considerably (not to mention completely changed the way we drink prosecco).
The online gift website has brought out their very own Harry Potter themed goblet, which changes colour before your eyes whenever you fill it to the brim with a cold drink.
Which means that, essentially, it’s the closest to Transfiguration any of us mere muggles are ever going to get.
The Harry Potter Colour Change Glass, as it is formally known, has been designed in a goblet style and is described as “sturdy” – good news for anyone whose Butterbeer-swigging antics are known for getting more than a little raucous.
Priced at a very reasonable £9.99, each glass is printed with a monochrome Hogwarts house crest displaying the badges of the four houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.
It also includes the Hogwarts motto, which (as any real Potterheads will tell you) means, ‘Never tickle a sleeping dragon’.
When filled with a cold drink of your choice, the heat sensors within the glass allow the Hogwarts crest to spectacularly take on the authentic golds, reds, greens and blues of each house.

As if all of that isn’t tempting enough, the must-have cup also comes in fancy Harry Potter packaging, said to be so “pretty” that one proud owner couldn’t bear to remove it, opting instead to keep the product as an ornament.
One shopper enthusiastically showed their devotion for the product, writing, “Love love love love love love”.
Another confirmed that it received a solid thumbs up when given as a gift, “Great cup for HP fans. Bought this as a gift for a colleague and he loved it. Looks good and is fun for any Harry Potter fan.”
“It worked,” said another simply.
Merlin’s beard! We’ll see you in The Three Broomsticks for a round of Butterbeers?
