When was the last time you practised the wingardium leviosa spell in the mirror? Was it last month, last week, or even in the last hour?
We ask this not to shame your existence (we’re all about the swish and flick), but to assess your credentials for the greatest job opening in the world: how would you like to be the Regional Creative Producer of the British Library’s Harry Potter exhibition?
Yes, you read correctly. The British Library is hiring a Harry Potteraholic to help with the opening and expansion of the new Harry Potter exhibition, which will be opening in October 2017.
However, it’s going to take more than an encyclopedic knowledge of the JK Rowling’s books to bag yourself the role.
According to the official job description, “the successful applicant will be required to expand the exhibition, billed as one of the most anticipated cultural events of 2017-18, [alongside the Library’s key partners]”.
It continues: “We are in the process of developing a new exhibition about Harry Potter and magic which will showcase an extraordinary range of wizarding books, manuscripts, and objects to the public.”
The part-time role, which is £25,600 per annum for 28.8 hours of work per week, also asks its applicants to showcase versions of the exhibition across the country.
The position, which is based in London, will also see the successful applicant work in sponsored_longform with 21 libraries across the UK to showcase the “unique panel exhibition”.
And to help you bag the role, a “passion for the cultural sector, and direct experience of exhibition project management, including proven experience in delivery of nationwide exhibitions and managing competing demands” is essential.
If you feel you’ve got what it takes to fit the role, you can apply here.
And if, like us, you’ll be jealously eyeing the successful keeno from afar, you can still experience the magic of the exhibition and book tickets here in advance.
