As any stalwart wizard knows, you need bucket-loads of happy thoughts to conjure up a Patronus.
And, if you’ve been having trouble doing just that, don’t despair (seriously, don’t; it attracts Dementors), because we have some very good news for you.
Are you ready for three more Harry Potter stories?
We thought as much.
Following on from the success of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, JK Rowling has revealed that she has written three new Harry Potter eBooks.
The stories, all of which have been created as part of the Short Stories from Hogwarts series, are a combination of brand-new content material and Pottermore archive content.
And they all sound absolutely magical.
Firstly, there’s Power, Politics, and Pesky Poltergeists, which promises to focus on Professor Slughorn’s early career at Hogwarts – not to mention his relationship with one notorious Tom Marvolo Riddle.
It will also reveal “the ruthless roots of Professor Umbridge”, which is sure to be an intriguing read; after all, what could possibly have happened to the pink-wearing, kitten-loving minister to make her so very, very evil?
Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide will take readers deep into the inner-workings of the wizarding school, examining such perplexing conundrums as what happens when the Sorting Hat can't decide on a student's house. The book will also take us out into the surrounding areas, such as Hogsmeade, and allow us the chance to better get to know the village’s inhabitants.
Rosmerta, we’re looking at you.
Finally, and perhaps most excitingly of all, Heroics, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies will “profile two of the Harry Potter stories’ most courageous and iconic characters: Minerva McGonagall and Remus Lupin.”
Rowling has previously hinted at McGonagall’s tragic past (she lost the love of her life, remember, and never found anyone worthy of her warrior heart again), so it promises to be a gripping read.
