From #veganfoodshare and #eatclean snaps, to the #delicious goodies spotted under the #foodporn and #foodie hashtags, there’s plenty to tempt us as we scroll through our Instagram feeds.
So how can we try to boost followers, likes, and comments when it comes to our own food photos?
By directing our lens at the internet’s most popular treats, of course.
Scientists at the University of Utah have conducted an interesting experiment into our eating and online habits, assessing over 80 million geotagged tweets sent between mid-2014 and mid-2015.

1) Coffee
2) Beer
3) Pizza
4) Starbucks
5) IPA (beer)
6) Wine
7) Chicken
8) BBQ
9) Ice cream
10) Tacos
Talk about a total #foodgasm.

- Vary the camera angle
- Opt for interesting backgrounds (a piece of material, rather than a full tablecloth, is a great way to contrast the food and it doesn’t wrinkle so easily)Use natural light wherever possible (or buy an extra light, to help brighten things up in dark restaurants)
