When we think about the best day of our lives, more often than not people will look to their wedding day. For one, it’s always a beautiful celebration of two people’s love for each other. And it usually only happens… once.

But just imagine for a moment that on your special day one of the world’s most famous (and loved) authors makes a surprise appearance – the dream, right?

Well, it happened to Nick and John on their special day.

While celebrating their nuptials at Edinburgh’s Prestonfield House, the pair (and their photographer Matt Fothergill of Matt.E.Photography) spotted the one and only JK Rowling. After plucking up some courage, Fothergill asked her for a photo to make their big day even more memorable.

“She said yes, of course, and then when she saw the guys, she was so cool,” Fothergill told HuffPost. “She just strode right up to them with the biggest smile and gave them both a big squeeze and wished them every health and happiness.”
