Joan Rivers returns to The Tonight Show after 26-year ban

Published

Joan Rivers returned to The Tonight Show last night, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, after a 26-year ban.

On the show, the outlandish Rivers made some shocking jokes, touching on subjects such as the Holocaust, as well as vaginal piercings and dryness (what else?).

She then went on to talk about her show Joan & Melissa, in which she undertakes various tasks that she wants to tick off her bucket list, or rather her "f*ck it list", as she calls it. And, true to her outrageous form, she announced that this season she's going to go into porn and make a sex tape.

She also discussed her ban, which was instated after she left The Tonight Show when it was hosted by Johnny Carson, with whom she had co-hosted (pictured below).

She had decided to move onto her own show over on Fox, and as a result was in direct competition to Carson. As Carson had, over the years, become a mentor to her, he decided to prevent Rivers from ever appearing on the show again.

Carson's successors, Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien kept the ban going, which meant Rivers couldn't appear on the late night programme.

However, Fallon, as the new host of The Tonight Show, has lifted the ban and welcomed her back after more than 25 years.

You can watch Rivers' hilarious stint on the show below. Prepare to be shocked.
