Bafta TV 2019 took place on Sunday evening (12 May), with the stars of British television putting on their glad rags and heading to London’s Southbank for the prestigious occasion.

Although Bodyguard and A Very British Scandal racked up a number of nominations, the real buzz was around Killing Eve, which received 14 nominations. With Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge at the helm of the BBC Three black-comedy drama about assassin Villanelle, it’s little wonder why the world is obsessed.

Although Sandra Oh, who plays the series’ titular character, wasn’t able to attend the event, her co-stars Jodie Comer (Villanelle) and Fiona Shaw (Carloyn Martens) joined PWB for a Killing Eve dominated night. OK, so this was more of a Fleabag moment rather than Killing Eve. But anyone who appreciates PWB will be very into her reunion with ‘Hot Priest’ Andrew Scott.

Later on, they presented the Best Mini Series award together, and provided a perfect comedy moment loaded with innuendo. “Just because something feels perfect, doesn’t mean it should last forever,” said Waller-Bridge.

“The nominees for this first award know that it’s not just the length of a thing, but what you do with it, is what matters,” replied Scott.
