The first trailer for A Star Is Born has just been released, starring the ever-talented Lady Gaga.

Is there anything Lady Gaga can’t do? She can belt out a tune like no other, wear a dress of meat like it’s couture (of course making important political statements at the same time), supports survivors of sexual assault and has already flexed her acting muscles in the American Horror Story series.

And now she’s back again, this time lending her talents to the film A Star Is Born. Starring alongside Bradley Cooper, she plays an unknown singer who finds her way to fame after starting a relationship with an already well-known performer.

The story is a remake of the 1937 film of the same name, but so far not many details about the new version have been released. Judging from the trailer however, it looks to be a must-watch.

Cooper plays Jackson Maine, an established singer struggling with a growing alcohol problem. The trailer sees him opening a bottle of liquor after being bundled into his car alone, away from flashing cameras and screaming fans.

Gaga’s character Ally, in contrast, is a struggling musician performing in small clubs. But after Jackson sees her on stage one night, watching from the audience of a darkened bar, the two lock eyes and sparks inevitably fly.

What comes next is an exploration of a passionate relationship and the highs and lows of stardom, as Jackson continues to struggle with his fame while simultaneously encouraging Ally into the spotlight.

Although this is Gaga’s first time appearing in a feature length film, she released her documentary, Gaga: Five Foot Two, in 2017. It gives an intimate insight into what it’s like to be one of the most famous women in the world.

We’ve loved seeing her on the small screen and can’t wait to see her take on Hollywood, too.
