Men rate cuddles more than women

Published

Forget the sex-obsessed, intimacy-shirking stereotype: when it comes to long-term relationships, men rate cuddles more than women.

Kinsey researchers interviewed more than 1,000 heterosexual couples across the US, Brazil, Germany, Japan and Spain, who ranged in age from 25 to 76 and had been in a committed relationship for an average of 25 years. Men who reported frequent kissing or cuddling with their partners were on average three times happier with their relationships than men who had limited snuggling. In contrast, women reported that cuddles didn’t have much impact on relationship satisfaction. Both men and women became happier the longer they stayed together, yet women reported more sexual satisfaction after being with their partner for 15 years.
