It's Mother's Day on 30 March, so there's still time to show your mum why you're her favourite child with one of these beauties:

  • Book of Everyone

    £7.50 - £50

If you're looking to score top marks for originality, Book of Everyone should do the trick. It's a website that lets you create a 50-page personalised book based around the recipient's favourite things or super powers that would suit their personality.

As well as the usual 'on this day when you were born,' there's some trivia they're less likely to know, such as the estimated weight of all the food they've ever consumed.

  • 'Home is Where Mum Is' card

Cash-poor? There's no excuse not to send a card. This one by Urban Graphic, available at Selfridges, is lovely.

  • Custom Print from the V&A

The V&A sells hundreds of beautiful custom prints, including fashion, vintage posters, photography, sculpture and Japanese and Indian prints.

They're available on high quality photographic or art paper, or canvas, with an option of mounting and framing.

  • Rococo Chocolate 'Mum' Heart Halves

A message in a sealed envelope, inside a hollowed-out chocolate heart with 'Mum' on the front. Irresistible.

Your message is handwritten in calligraphy font and folded using bespoke origami before being placed inside the handpainted chocolate.

  • Conundrum Wine Aerator Decanter

'Mum, can we borrow your decanter?'

As well as looking very cool, this decanter is said to enhance the flavour and aroma of any chosen vintage, thanks to its unusual shape.

  • Northanger Abbey by Val McDermid

Murder, suspense and a touch of Jane Austen, all set in Edinburgh. Give your mum Val McDermid's modern-day Northanger Abbey thriller or select another from our pick of March's best books.

  • Alison van der Lande Golf Bag Pink

Yes, it's pricey but if your mum's more into golf than designer handbags, this is the Mother's Day present.

It's by designer Alison van der Lande and is available at the Conran Shop.

  • A hamper from the Cheese Shed

    Various prices

Unless she's lactose intolerant, chances are a cheese hamper would go down very well this Mother's Day. The Cheese Shed Selection, pictured, starts at £27 and contains two firm cows' milk cheeses, a blue, a goats cheese and a soft cheese.

There's also the option for a gift subscription, so your mum could have a regular delivery, ideally arriving on the days you're planning to visit.

  • Darya Anastasia Coral necklace

Darya jewellery is just beautiful and we particularity like this Anastasia Coral necklace, which is embroidered with Swarovski elements, enameled stones and woven cord.

  • Personalised Bombay Sapphire Gin

Selfridges is offering to carve a message of up to 30 characters on the famous blue Bombay Sapphire bottle for Mother's Day - brilliant. Just order the bottle online, email with your order number and the message you'd like on the bottle.

  • Afternoon Tea At The Ritz

As the famous hotel itself says, "Tea at The Ritz is an institution in itself."

It might be a bit crowded on Mother's Day itself but it's worth the trip anytime of year. The takeaway box of Ritz Top Hat Chocolates are a bonus too.

  • Nomess Clear Makeup Organiser

Yes, we know you can buy clear plastic make-up organisers for a lot less than this, but we can pretty much guarantee they won't be a match for Nordic design company Nomess' version.

    Ideal for the organised mum.

  • Moonpig Mothers Day Roses Beauty Gift Set

They're not your usual go-to company for flowers but we've been impressed by Moonpig's flower and gift delivery service.

This hand-tied rose bouquet comes with Montezuma raspberry and white chocolate truffles and Heathcote & Ivory Vintage Beauty Collection.

  • Mulberry Heart Key Ring

This rose gold Mulberry trinket will beat any other key-ring she's ever been given, hands down.

  • Union Roastmaster Subscription Coffee Gift

    Various prices

If she likes coffee, how about having a new selection delivered to her door every month? Union offers reasonably-priced, quality wholebean or ground coffees in six and 12-month subscriptions.

Bonus round for coffee geeks: First orders include a binder, information on coffee roasting and origins, and every month the recipient is sent a fact sheet about that month's selection.
