If you left your heart in the 1990s, prepare to finally feel again; MTV is launching a brand new channel called MTV Classic, dedicated to bringing back everything from Daria to  Unplugged.

In a rebrand of existing throwback channel VH1 Classic, the new-old channel will show reruns of popular TV shows and music programmes from MTV’s extensive scheduling history, with a particular focus on the 90s and early 00s.

That means Daria (*fist pump*), MTV Unplugged, Storytellers, Pimp My Ride, Run’s House, Beavis and Butt-Head plus plenty more.

The weekends will also see back to back episodes of binge-worthy shows including Laguna Beach and Real World, for serious couch marathons that’ll let us all relive our teenage years.

“From Beavis & Butt-head to Laguna Beach, MTV’s programming vault is a music and pop culture goldmine with universal resonance,” Sean Atkins, President of MTV, notes in an official statement.

“MTV Classic gives audiences a modern and artful home for classic MTV programming and — alongside MTV, MTV2, MTV Live and mtvU — rounds out a diverse portfolio with music and youth culture at its core.”

But while there’s been much rejoicing about the return of music programmes including Total Request Live and of course, Unplugged, which saw famous sessions from the likes of Nirvana, Bob Dylan and  Erykah Badu, it’s the resurrection of Daria that’s grabbing headlines.

Though old episodes can be streamed on Hulu, MTV ceased airing Daria some 14 years ago, and it’s clear from responses that many of us have been carrying a green-jacket-shaped hole in our lives ever since.

There won’t be any new episodes coming our way, sadly, but the channel plans to show all episodes from the five 13-episode seasons of the sitcom, bringing a healthy dose of darkly funny wit to our screens.

To celebrate, we’ve rounded a few our own favourite moments and Daria one-liners.

Embrace the acerbic pleasure.

MTV Classic launches on 1 August.
