A new petition has launched on Change.org to bring an end to Paddy Power's betting offer on the Oscar Pistorious trial.
Irish bookmaker Paddy Power are offering bets on the fact that Oscar Pistorius may not be convicted of the pre-meditated murder of his partner Reeva Steenkamp.
A national advertising campaign is currently promoting the "money back if he walks" offer and it has prompted numerous complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority.
Now a petition on Change.org is campaigning to draw the offensive betting to a close and asking Paddy Power's chief executive Patrick Kennedy to donate any profits so far to a women's charity fighting violence against women.
"The brutal death of a woman at the hands of her partner is not "sport" or "entertainment" and promoting the opportunity to make money from it is a vile and offensive act which anyone with a sense of human dignity and respect for human life must reject," reads the petition page on Change.org.
It continues: "138 women died in the UK alone as a result of male violence in 2013. This type of random carelessness for the lives of women by Paddy Power is an affront to those women and their families."

Oscar Pistorius is currently on trial in South Africa for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp after she was found lying on the bathroom floor after being shot four times through a toilet door on Valentine's Day, 2013. He denies the claims. The trial continues.
