Proposals, pups and prancing policemen: all the best moments from Pride in London 2017

The capital came alive over the weekend in a burst of love (and colour) for Pride in London 2017, in what was the biggest march in the event's 45-year history.

More than 26,000 people joined the procession along the 1.4 mile route, which began in Portland Place before passing through Oxford Circus and Regent Street en route to the finish line at Whitehall, while around 1 million people watched on as rainbow-coloured floats and entertainers made their way through the crowds.

In a poignant move, the emergency service crews who helped in the aftermath of the recent terror attacks and the Grenfell Tower fire were nominated to lead the way, joined by flag-bearers from countries all around the world.

Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, rallied the crowd with a speech in which he said: “we've had a horrible last few weeks. We've had terror, we've had tragedy. You know what the best antidote to sorrow, the best antidote to sadness, to bereavement, to hatred, is – Pride In London."

And he wasn’t wrong.

A jubilant celebration ensued that saw everything from marriage proposals to decked-out pups to dancing policeman. Scroll down to see some of our favourite moments below...
