Pumpkin cheesecake lasagne: what dreams are made of

There have been a fair few dessert crazes of late. We’ve tasted the love child of a croissant and a doughnut (the cronut); the doughnut and muffin hybrid (the duffin) - and even the croissant and the muffin (a cruffin).

And if all those didn’t blow your culinary mind, then you’re in for a treat, because someone has now invented a pumpkin cheesecake lasagne.

That’s right, imagine Thanksgiving meets dinner at your local Italian joint - aka the best thing that ever happened to your taste buds since the exploding candy you loved as a kid.

Much like how you’d make a classic lasagne, this dish involves the generous layering of mouth-watering ingredients: biscuit crust, layers of pumpkin cream, layers of cheesecake all topped with a caramel drizzle.

Just think of the creamy, mushy deliciousness – with an edge of crunch- that would greet you with a mouthful of that.

Imagine it.

Dish of dreams

The recipe for this phenomenon comes from the foodies at Delish magazine who have, themselves, dubbed it “the most delicious thing Delish has ever made.”

It’s not the first time we’ve heard of pudding lasagne, we’ve drooled endlessly over Nutella lasagne (above) ever since we discovered it because, it just made sense. Why wouldn’t you turn your favourite home cooked meal into your new favourite home cooked dessert?

Additionally, as Delish point out, the real wonder of dessert lasagnes is how little effort they require to concoct. It’s more about building a pudding, like you’re playing a game of foodie Jenga, rather than making all the effort to cook one.

Here’s the recipe so you can make your own. You can thank us later.
