The trailer for Queer Eye season two has dropped, revealing the show’s first female makeover.
It’s the TV show that’s sparked many conversations (and multiple crying sessions). Of course, we’re talking about Netflix’s Queer Eye. With the ‘Fab Five’ in tow – Tan France, Karamo Brown, Jonathan Van Ness, Bobby Berk and Antoni Porowski – the show has fully restored our faith in the world in 2018.
As fans of the hit TV series will know, only a few weeks ago Netflix confirmed the show’s return to the small screen this summer with the synopsis: “This season, the Queer Eye Fab Five return to the Georgia heartland, forging connections with communities from a wide array of backgrounds and beliefs often contrary to their own, touching on everything from self-love and faith, to immigration and how to make the perfect homemade poke bowls and more!”
Now, the first trailer has landed and, of course, it’s a tear-jerker. But, for the first time, the guys makeover a woman: Tammye, a teacher and cancer survivor who’s in charge of her church’s homecoming (a celebration that marks the return of members and celebrates the organisation).
“We have a really special treat, you guys - we’re doing a lady!” says design expert Bobby Berk in the two-minute trailer.
Food expert Antoni Porowski says: “I haven’t done a lady in years,” to which Berk replies, “Personally, I’ve never done a lady.”
Further in we then see Antoni trying to control his tears as Tammye makes a speech and tries to console him.
And there’s more: a surprise proposal, comedy show and a transgender man named Skyler.
Have your tissues at the ready, everyone.
Season two of Queer Eye returns to Netflix on 15 June.
