The table is laden with pigs-in-blankets, goose fat covered roast potatoes and delicious homemade cranberry sauce – all surrounding the perfectly turned-out turkey.

But what’s missing from this Christmassy scene?

Enter: Aldi’s three-litre bottle of prosecco.

Some may say it’s too early for talk of Santa and his reindeers, but the summer sun has set, the leaves have fallen, and the time has come.

And priced at £39.99 this seems like the best accompaniment for Christmas celebrations at a super affordable price tag.

Aldi's Giotti Prosecco, from the Venato region in Italy

Giotti Prosecco, from the Venato region in Italy, contains the equivalent of four normal bottles of wine or 24 glasses (we’re no mathematicians but that’s a lot of bubbles).

Due to hit the shelves on 14 November, the fizz tastes “fruity, light and delicate with wisteria flower notes”, according to the Metro.

Let's drink and be merry this Christmas

With news of a prosecco advent calendar having already arrived to the many unexpected health benefits to come from drinking the fizzy stuff, and London hosting it’s first-ever prosecco festival this year, it’s fair to say our hearts flutter at the sight of the fizz.

And one thing’s for sure, you won’t run out of prosecco during the party season with this at hand.
