Here are a few Haribo blackberries Stella foraged from the pic 'n' mix stand this morning. She loves to #eatclean and find her #glow with #nature.
It's one of many hilarious parodies Hackney-based comedian Bella Younger has been posting on Instagram in response to the wholesome lifestyle trend fuelled by bloggers on the internet.
“I used to spend four hours a day looking through Instagram and feeling bad about myself,” the 28-year-old tells BuzzFeed. “Why’s everyone on a beach? What is this stylised courgette rubbish?”
Earlier this year she began poking fun at the healthy food craze under the alias Deliciously Stella on Instagram and has since collated a following of 37,000 fans.
While the name appears to be a play on Ella Woodward's wholesome cooking blog Deliciously Ella, Younger tells the Evening Standard she's not singling anyone out and that Instagram’s “completely saturated” with these accounts.
“I don’t want to be mean about anyone. I think it’s great that it’s encouraged so many young female entrepreneurs. It’s just that the whole thing got so insipid. Everything is always beautiful and healthy and delicious and shot in the sunshine, under blossom with a beautiful filter.”
“Most of us can’t squeeze in a delicious organic breakfast in Neal’s Yard at 11am. Some of us are having a packet of Hula Hoops and a Sprite on the morning commute because we drank too much the night before and are going to be chained to our desks for the next 12 hours.
“I’m not a nutritionist or a doctor but I’m pretty sure that exercising that level of control can’t be great for body and soul. I’ve seen a lot of articles recently about ‘orthorexia’ and I can see how that description could fit some of these ‘lifestyles’. In my opinion #cleaneating is just a diet by another name and I’m not down with being shamed for enjoying ‘dirty’ food.”
