It's Friday, it's the weekend before Christmas and we need no more excuse to mix up a warming winter tipple. This hearty rum concoction from The Churchill Bar & Terrace at Hyatt Regency London is just what we need to get in the festive swing of things...
Winston’s Nightcap
Ingredients:
- 75ml Ron Zacapa rum
- 100ml boiling water
- 1 and a half tea spoons of butter
- 20 ml spiced syrup (which is made from brown sugar infused with vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, star Anise)
Method:
1. Mix together the hot water, butter and syrup in a jug, and stir together so that the butter melts into the liquid
2. In a soda syphon, carbonate one egg white with a dash of the vanilla spiced syrup to make a vanilla foam
3. Pour the rum mixture into a warmed glass so the ingredients do not get cold and spray vanilla foam on top to garnish
4. Serve a half pint tankard alongside a nibble of gingerbread
5. Enjoy!
