Here at stylist.co.uk, we’ve taken the elective decision to rebrand 2017 as the Year of Unconventional Food and Drink Experiences.
From the opening of a pizza playground in West India Quay to the launch of a series of top secret dinner parties at the mysterious Juniper Manor, and even a bus crammed full of cheese arriving in the capital next month, it appears we are no longer satisfied with the pedestrian concept of merely eating our food or, say, drinking our drinks.
And if you, too, have found yourself in something of a food and drink rut lately, fear not: a new drinking experience is launching in London next month and it looks set to topple them all.
Billed as the world’s first ever hot air balloon bar, the new experience will combine gin (good) with adventure (good) and a dash of sky-high escapism (also good).
Developed by the team behind the Mr Fogg’s drinking dens, the bar will serve “Hendricks libations” to “thrill-seeking guests”, according to a statement.
There will even be a special cocktail, called “Mr Fogg's Peculiar Flying Machine”, available on board.

The balloon will be flown by an experienced pilot, with a bartender on hand to mix the drinks, and the experience is set to launch in London on 5 June.
There’s no news yet on ticket prices or where to get your hands on them, but we’ll update this page as soon as we hear more information…
