OK, we'll admit it. We're guilty of posting photos of our food on Instagram, yes even if it's of our soggy Weetabix.

While our pictures might not be cause for celebration, there are some clever people who are phenomenally skilled when using a smartphone. Which is why Instagram has compiled a list of the top foodie photographers to follow this year (oddly enough, we didn't make the list).

So, how did they pick their photographers? Instagram celebrates beautiful images, rather than selecting the most followed or most hashtagged, so it curated the list of people who take the most creative and striking images.

Below, you will see an array of stunning snaps of pizza, macaroons, fry-ups and even the humble sandwich. In fact, these photos are so good, it's making us hungry.
