London's best pop-up bars for summer 2017

There’s nothing better during the fleeting loveliness of summer in the city than sitting back, drink in hand, and pretending you’re on holiday.

And while there are plenty of gorgeous rooftop bars and beer gardens vying to whisk you away to a state of bliss, it’s this year’s crop of pop-up bars that have made us most excited for the long, lazy months ahead.

From rooftop sun-downers to craft beer paired with karaoke, to sangria sipped under a canopy of flowers and back again, there is well and truly a pop-up to satisfy every taste – and even one with an avocado bar (yes, really).

Now the sun is finally shining, we’ve chosen some of our favourite pop-ups below, with locations and opening times listed to make your planning even easier.

We’ll see you there...

Neverland London, Fulham

Neverland london

Pining for a bit of beach-side boozing this summer but don’t have the time (or the will) to leave the city? Neverland London has got you covered. Dubbed Fulham’s best “staycation”, Neverland is a Thameside haven complete with white sand, pastel-perfect beach huts and, of course, those Instagram-ready rope swings.

Even better, the location is entirely BYOB, meaning you’ll have more cash left over to indulge in a street food feast from the likes of The Duck Truck, Le Rac Shack and Taco Dave.

Open Wednesdays to Sundays, times vary. Free entry

Skylight, Tobacco Dock

We can't think of a more fitting destination for London’s first urban lawn club than the brilliantly historic, Grade I listed Tobacco Dock warehouse. Here, you will find three sprawling levels of a former car park transformed into a food, drinks and games space, kitted out with croquet and pétanque (a form of boules) courts. Bring your A-game.

Open Thursdays to Sundays. Free entry

Pergola on the Roof, Shepherd’s Bush

Hands down the most Instagram-worthy pop-up of them all, Pergola on the Roof has returned to offer a slice of Hamptons living to us world-weary Londoners. Think white-washed decking, giant day beds and the odd palm tree or two, sat beneath a canopy of flowers and softly lit lanterns, all on top of White City’s old BBC television centre. Featuring street food from Patty & Bun, 8 Hoxton Square and Breddos Tacos, as well as pretty much any type of drink you fancy, this is one to make a beeline for.

Open Wednesdays to Sundays, times vary. Free entry

For those who like their champagne with a side of culture, the Perrier-Jouët Champagne Terrace will tick every box. Located at the eighth annual Masterpiece arts and antiques fair, it’s the perfect spot to indulge in a glass of fizz or a canapé or five once you’ve soaked up the exhibition.

Plus, every day at 5pm there will be free champagne tastings for the first 10 visitors to the fair, giving you a chance to sample the brand’s upcoming new cuvées.

Open 29 June – 5 July. Free entry

Last Days of Shoreditch Riviera, Old Street

The organisers of Old Street’s Last Days of Shoreditch Riviera pop-up have (somehow) managed to wedge all our favourite things into one place. Not only will there be more cocktails, street food and resident DJs than you can shake a glow-stick at, but also an urban beach, a craft beer bar and a karaoke room. And that’s all before we've mentioned that the pop up also houses London’s first ever avocado bar…

Open Thursdays to Saturdays, times vary. Free entry
