Forget soft scoop ice-cream in a cone. What if you could have your daily espresso served in a handcrafted, freshly-dipped chocolate waffle cup?
Los Angeles coffee shop Alfred Coffee & Kitchen have introduced dessert and beverage hybrid cups named the 'Alfred Cone', which customers can have their espresso or macchiato served in.
The store manager Ashlee Lawson has likened them to a "baby mocha", explaining that in addition to the chocolate rim, the cups are also completely coated with chocolate on the inside.
To keep things from getting to messy on a morning commute, the Alfred Cone is served in a wax paper holder.
The invention costs $5 - approximately £3.11 - a pop in addition to the price of the coffee. Now we just need a plucky British coffee establishment to create it here, we'd be first in line.
We've seen some brilliant foodie-based innovation in our time, from cronuts to chocolate chip cookie shots, but this has to be the best hybrid yet. What do you think?
