Move over, Big Mac - there's another Big Boss in town. KFC Canada has unveiled its signature Big Boss "sandwich" this week amid a flurry of excitement on social media.
The whopper creation is comprised of two layers of crispy chicken fillets, fresh lettuce, pickles, cheese and signature sauce in a sesame seed bun.
Hailing it as a "sandwich revolution," KFC Canada says its latest invention gives "a fresh alternative to the iconic double burger."
But a spokesman denied that it was launched as a copy of McDonald's Big Mac.
"KFC is continuously innovating to adapt to a broad range of customers," Canadian KFC rep David Vivenes told thespec.com.
Commentators on KFC Canada's Facebook page were quick to point the similarities between the Big Boss and the Big Mac. "Isn't this copying the Big Mac but using chicken instead?" asked one person, as another said: "It looks like a Big Mac made with chicken."
Other Facebook users were more enthusiastic, describing the sandwich as "beautiful" and "absolutely fantastic."
We don't know the exact number of calories contained in a Big Boss sandwich but suffice to say, it's probably not the healthiest of snacks. Our waistlines can breathe a sigh of relief, however, as the mammoth snack is only available in KFC Canada for now and there's no word yet on whether it will migrate to the UK.
What do you think - would you give the Big Boss a whirl, if you could? Or are you more of a Big Mac girl? Or does the thought of eating either make you shudder?! Let us know on Twitter or in the comments below.
