Londoners have been spoilt for choice with niche foodie openings this year. First a Gin Hotel opened its doors, then a restaurant dedicated solely to cheese got a permanent home in Camden. And now a Pizza Playground is coming to East London.

Pizza Pilgrim’s new West India Quay branch in a Grade 1-listed traditional brick warehouse on the waterfront, has been fitted out for the ultimate evening of fun and games. And pizza.

As well as tucking into Pilgrims’ classic Neapolitan, you’ll be able to enjoy a game of a foosball on a 22-player table, or have the perfect night-in night-out in the comfy games area, which is bookable for parties of up to 12. Your group will be served takeaway-style slices in their boxes while you play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch and a 65-inch screen to your heart’s content.

Outside there’s a bocce ball court for an after or pre-dinner game of boules. And if you choose to eat your slices outdoors, you can prop yourself up at the Birra Moratti and Aperol bars while overlooking the river.

Pizza Pilgrims, West India Quay opens on Monday May 1.
